Our school is dedicated to creating and supporting partnerships among schools, families and community. As a central resource for family engagement, EPA engages and informs parent and families as essential partners in helping students achieve academic proficiency, college and career readiness.
The EPA provides educational software, APEX Learning, which will automatically prescribe students with personalized learning paths that cover sections of the course they haven’t mastered. Teachers adjust learning paths and assessments as needed. Students work through the coursework to earn course credit. Once students have successfully completed their learning path activities and passed the summative assessments required by their school or district, they have recovered their missing credit and are eligible for successive coursework, promotion to the next grade, or graduation.

My name is Daniela Annette Hernandez. I am the daughter of immigrants who have struggled and worked hard to make a life for themselves and their family. Their struggles and successes encourage me to give it my all in everything I do. Unfortunately, during my junior year of high school, I became sick which delayed my academic plans for that year. I was disappointed in myself for having that setback and felt like throwing in the towel but I am thankful for the opportunity that Everglades Preparatory Academy gave me to excel in my studies and keep on pushing forward. Afterwards, I began to motivate myself to be a better person academically, physically, and mentally which will catapult me to become a successful entrepreneur in the future. I plan to attend Palm Beach State College for two years and transfer to Florida Atlantic University majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing.
When I first entered Everglades Preparatory Academy as a 9th grader, I can remember feeling nervous and anxious all at the same time. I had heard so many things about the school, which led me to become gullible when making decisions. The atmosphere was different, and I thought it would be hard for me to adapt. With so many things running through my mind, I quickly had to remember my purpose for being there. I realized that every student that was enrolled had similar situations to mine. In spite of the struggles I had to endure, I managed to survive. In 2006, I received a scholarship to continue my education at any college of my choice. It was at that moment when I realized that making the ultimate decision to enroll at EPA was one of the best decisions that I’ve made. If I had continued my education at my former school, I can attest that the outcome wouldn’t have been the same. Thank you is truly not enough to say to the teachers and staff at Everglades Preparatory Academy. You’ve motivated and encouraged me to become the best that I can be. Whew! Five years later, who would have thought that I would now be employed at the school I once attended as a student. Indeed, it is an honor and a privilege and I do not take it lightly. My experience here has taught me the value of hard work and to never despise small beginnings.
To my EPA family Thank You for all of the time and energy you put into helping me throughout my high school and college career. During my graduation ceremony I reflected on my educational journey which began with you. Thank you so much for being part of my graduation celebration
